FOREWORD

It gives me immense pleasure that the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation is bringing out its Citizen's Charter in respect of its commitments towards information empowerment of people. This important Charter will provide an interface with the public, Non-Government Organisations, Research Organisations and other users. Through this Charter we let people know the Vision, Mission and Goals of this Ministry and how one can get in touch with its officials to seek help. For the first time, the Citizen Charter is being released by this Ministry and keeping these objectives in mind, I consider the issuance of Citizen's Charter as an important milestone,

I am sure that this compendium would be of help to the citizens and other users. The Ministry and its field formations would continuously strive to improve the performance standards to meet the citizen's needs.
