Redressal
of Public Grievances

The Ministry is sensitized to redress grievances in a responsible and effective manner. An officer of the rank of Deputy Secretary in his capacity as Director of Public Grievances is responsible for expeditious redressal of grievances in a time-bound manner. He functions from Room No. 225, Sardar Patel Bhavan, Sansad Marg, New Delhi.

he Ministry has limited public interface. However, all staff and public grievances are looked into promptly and progress monitored in the Senior Officers Meeting presided by Secretary each month.

Complaint/ Suggestion Box is also placed at the Reception to facilitate greater interaction between the officials and public and also to ensure transparency & responsiveness in administration. Wherever considered necessary the grievance petitioners are allowed to have oral hearing in the presence of Joint Secretary (Admn.) with a view to facilitating on-the-spot redressal of grievances.

An Information and Facilitation Desk has been set up near the Reception in Sardar Patel Bhavan to provide facilitation of information. Information relating to activities of this Ministry is available also at Website (www.mo5pi.nic.in) and a Touch Screen machine is proposed to be installed soon.
