* The membership of the States/UTs every year would be decided on rotational basis in alphabetical order, separately for north-eastern States, UTs and other States.
Mandate for the Standing Committee
- · To consider all matters associated with the organization of COCSSO including finalization of Agenda and other technical details;
- · To finalize the action plan and monitoring of the follow-up action on the decisions taken by COCSSO;
- · To bring improvement in the Statistical System in the Country;
- · To strengthen the coordination of statistical activities between Centre and State/UTs, and; between the MOSPI and different Central Ministries/Departments; and
- · To deliberate on any other matter having bearing on the development of the Statistical System at the Centre and in the States.
