Ans. Hard
copies are available with the Additional Director General, NSSO (SDRD),

Director General, NSSO(CPD), 4th

Q3 What is the price of hard copy of a NSS Report?
Ans. It varies for different reports. The price may be ascertained from the website of the Ministry (
www.mospi.gov.in) under the links
NSSO/Survey Reports/SE Survey Reports or from the officers mentioned above.
Q4 What is the mode of payment for purchasing the hard copy of
NSS Report?
Ans. The payment is to be made through bank draft in favour of
“Pay & Accounts Officer, Ministry of Statistics & Programme
Implementation, Kolkata”. Postal
Charges will be Rs. 85/- by Speed Post and Rs. 30/- by Registered Parcel for
single copy within India.
Q5 What is the procedure for purchase of soft copy of NSS
Reports?
Ans. CDs containing NSS reports are available in the office of
Additional Director General, NSSO (SDRD), Mahalanobis Bhawan, 164, G.L.T.
Road, Kolkata-700108. Price of the CD
for a report may be ascertained from the website of the Ministry/the
concerned officer as mentioned above.
Q6 Are NSS Reports
available on the website of the Ministry?
Ans. Yes, it is available free of cost. It can be viewed/printed after clicking on “download” mentioned
against NSS report number in the website.
However, new users have to create user id etc. after filling and
submitting a form which is shown on clicking at “New user” available on the
window shown after clicking at “download”.
This user id may be used for downloading NSS Reports/Sarvekshana.
Q7 Is unit level data for NSS Survey available to the public?
Ans. Yes. After release of
NSS Reports based on a particular schedule of a NSS round, the unit level
data is made available to the Computer Centre of M/o Statistics &
Programme Implementation from where it can be purchased for further analysis
by the users. However, in the unit
level data supplied, the original identifications particulars are suppressed
and pseudo identification particulars are given .
Q8 What is the price for the unit level data and how can it be
purchased?
Ans. The price of unit level data for various schedules in various
rounds of NSS is available in the website of the Ministry. The procedure for
obtaining the data on payment is as follows:-
▪ Validated
unit level data relating to various Surveys / Rounds / Schedules are
available on CD's in ASCII format and
can be obtained by submitting the
following documents:
(i) Written request addressed to the Deputy
Director General, Computer Centre, Ministry Statistics and P.I., East Block-10, R.K.Puram, New
Delhi-110066;
ii) Bank Draft / Cashier’s Cheque for the
price amount drawn in favour of Pay
& Accounts Officer, M/o Statistics & P.I., payable at NEW DELHI; and
iii) A duly filled in and
signed Undertaking in the specified format available at web site
▪ Overseas users / International
Organizations will pay the price quoted in USD or GBP or its equivalent in INR at current
rate.
