Survey Coordination Division (SCD) is located at New Delhi and is responsible for coordinating all the activities of different Divisions of NSS (SDRD, DQAD and FOD).
This Division also functions as Secretariat of the DG (NSS).
Besides, it also monitors allocation of Grants-in-Aid to North-Eastern States of India.
It also brings out the bi-annual journal of NSS, titled “Sarvekshana”, and organizes National Seminars on the results of various Socio-economic surveys undertaken by NSS.
Coordinate survey related work issues amongst divisions of NSO(NSS) and other Ministries/ Offices/ agencies involved in NSS surveys.
Coordinate administrative and legal issues amongst divisions of NSO(NSS).
Survey planning, monitoring and reporting.
Monitoring and scrutiny of Monthly Progress Report of different Surveys.
Monitoring of Budget of NSS.
Monitoring and scrutiny of Monthly Progress Expenditure Report of different divisions.
Monitoring and disbursal of Grants-in-aid to NE states.
Replying to Parliament Questions and other queries related to NSS Surveys
Preparation and release of bi-annual journal ‘Sarvekshana’
Activities related to modernization of survey techniques like GSS
Handling various other issues like RTI, Court cases, VIP References, etc.
